Building Bridges: A Day to Celebrate Perseverance and Progress

As I walked out of the ballroom today, I took a deep breath—a deep, satisfying breath. Not of relief, but of pride. Pride in my team, our partners, and the students who have entrusted us with their future. Today’s Building Bridges event was not just another day on the calendar. It was a milestone, a reflection of the countless hours, sleepless nights, and tireless dedication that have gone into our mission to provide sustainable employment opportunities for our graduates.

This journey hasn’t been easy, and there have been days where the weight of the work felt overwhelming. We are working against the tide, challenging societal perceptions, and striving to create real change in the lives of people who often feel forgotten. But as I stood in that ballroom, surrounded by partners and supporters who believe in this mission just as much as I do, I was reminded that none of this effort is in vain.

To my team—you are the backbone of this organization. Your commitment to our students and your drive to make this world a more equitable place never ceases to inspire me. Whether you’re meeting with students, coordinating programs, or building partnerships, every piece of the puzzle you work on contributes to the greater picture of success. Thank you for believing in our vision and pushing through, even when the road gets tough.

To our partners—today, we celebrated the power of collaboration. You’ve opened doors and offered support to our graduates, not just because it benefits your organization, but because you believe in the transformative power of second chances. Together, we are building bridges to opportunities that many thought would be forever out of reach. I am deeply grateful for your continued partnership and for walking this path with us.

To our students—your courage is the heartbeat of Persevere. You’ve faced incredible barriers, but you’ve chosen to invest in yourself and your future. Watching you grow, learn, and seize the opportunities provided through our programs reminds me why we do this work. Your determination fuels our drive, and your success is our greatest reward.

Walking out of that ballroom today, I realized this is more than just an event. It’s a reminder of what we’re fighting for every day—the belief that sustainable employment can change lives, families, and entire communities. The work isn’t easy. It never will be. But it’s worth it.

With every resume written, every interview prepared for, and every hand we hold along the way, we are making a lasting impact. And for that, I couldn’t be prouder.

Here’s to the hard work behind us and the incredible journey still ahead. Together, we’re building bridges that will stand the test of time.

  1. If it was easy anyone could and would do it. You are not just anyone. You are someone that has been chosen for the role you now have. Sometimes we don’t understand why or how things have happened in our past. We would not be the person we are today without those experiences.

I truly believe God has a plan for us all. Those past experiences shape and mold us. However, it’s up to us to take those experiences and move forward in the path set for us. If we don’t step forward God will find someone else to do the job he planned for us.

Stacey, I want you to know it truly is an honor to work with and for you under the Persevere umbrella. One reason I chose to come work for Persevere is I wanted to be able to affect a larger number of people. Events like Building Bridges reassures me I made the right choice.
